The Peaceful Pubs Training Programme is perfect for you if you are:
Tired of the awkward stares
Those anxious glances from fellow patrons as your dog's behaviour steals the spotlight
Always aware of who is walking by
Dogs, children, prams, lorries… do you have to be on high alert to keep your dog settled?
Ready for relaxed outings
The ability to enjoy a cuppa or a pint without worrying about your dog causing a stir
Seeking a long term solution
No quick-fixes that break down at the drop of a hat, we're about sustainable solutions for real life
We can now enjoy a coffee at the cafe
We are very grateful to Phili as Freddie is now much calmer in social situations. We can now enjoy a coffee in the local cafe, with Freddie happy to lay on his blanket and relax. This would have previously been a high stress activity for Freddie, and as a result also stressful for us and so something we’d avoid! We now have the tools to keep working independently with Freddie to expand the social settings he can settle in, with Phili still available for advice and support.
Phili was very patient with us when life sometimes got in the way of practicing Freddie’s training homework, always encouraging us that we were doing well.
It was a pleasure working with Phili and we would certainly recommend her without hesitation. I also think it is fair to say she is one of Freddie’s favourite human beings!

The First Step: Initial Support Visit
The purpose of this in-home visit is for us to chat through your concerns, assess your dog, and train a helpful core skill. This also gives you an opportunity to meet and work with me before deciding on what programme could fit best into your life.
Settling in public is one of the key skills required of guide dogs; as a qualified Guide Dog Trainer, I have taught over 50 dogs to be well-behaved in social situations using effective and kind training, so your dog is in good hands.
I know having a dog who barks or becomes distracted in public places can be overwhelming. You want to include your dog in your life, whether at a café, a friend’s house, or the local pub, but it often feels impossible when they won’t settle.
I can help you regain your freedom.

- Two weeks’ follow-up via WhatsApp or text to iron out any issues

We'll also chat through what support is available next to give you the best chance of success; see 'What comes next?' below for more details
